The Power Of Our Thoughts
A long time ago, my life was humming along uneventfully. I was just living life on ideas passed down from generations and my peers. Suddenly, upon reading a personal development book, I was transported into a world of power. I woke up! These amazing books connected me to the Source of all Power. It was amazing that we could create our own health, wealth and relationships through our own thoughts.
I started tapping into that Power through daily affirmations. This power connected us to our Source, and to other people. But the most important thing was the personal power personal development gave me. I could now re-write the book of my of my own life by connecting to the Source. I learned to take on responsibility for all my decisions and to stop blaming other people. I learned the power of the mind, and how it can give your life direction and purpose.
No longer was life a haphazard series of events over which I had no control. I learned about the power of positive thinking and manifestation. In other words, I learned that the Creator imparted to us the ability to co-create. This was so empowering.
To me, personal development is very closely allied with the true meaning of spirituality. It helps me see that many common beliefs are not true, and that only what you believe is true. Positive energy is so important and shines through our eyes. Our world becomes a reflection of our way of thinking. We gradually learn to train our minds into replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. It takes a long time and this exercise continues throughout life, but is a wonderful way to instill self-development and self-control. It teaches us to be more forgiving and tolerant of others. Unforgiveness only creates disease. Whatever we give out we get more of it back. It shows us how to be compassionate, and to try to put ourselves in others shoes before criticising them.
We learn that loving ourselves is just as important as loving others, as one can’t really exist without the other. When you’re compassionate with yourself, it’s easier to change and create a better life. We must always think that we deserve the best, no matter what mistakes we made in the past.
We need to learn how to trust Life, and to let go. Appreciation and gratitude each day bring back balance into our lives. Patience helps us ride out temporary difficulties and setbacks. We’re able to face life’s uncertainties with calm and hope.
We create better health for ourselves through feeling what our bodies need. We make better decisions through being true to our intuition about what we need to do in Life. There are so many areas of personal development that help the individual develop their potential, improve self-awareness and develop their talents. Working on yourself is key in all of them.
It gives you a sense of confidence to know who you are and to be it. To know what you want and go and get it.
We understand just how short life is, and that if we want something, it is all up to us to work with the Universe.
