The Power Of Our Thoughts

A long time ago, my life was humming along uneventfully.  I was just living life on ideas passed down from generations and my peers.  Suddenly, upon reading a personal development book, I was transported into a world of power.  I woke up!  These amazing books connected me to the Source of all Power.  It was amazing that we could create our own health, wealth and relationships through our own thoughts.

I started tapping into that Power through daily affirmations.  This power connected us to our Source, and to other people.  But the most important thing was the personal power personal development gave me.  I could now re-write the book of my of my own life by connecting to the Source.   I learned to take on responsibility for all my decisions and to stop blaming other people.  I learned the power of the mind, and how it can give your life direction and purpose.  No longer was life a haphazard series of events over which I had no control.  I learned about the power of positive thinking and manifestation.  In other words, I learned that the Creator imparted to us the ability to co-create.  This was so empowering.

Health

As we attract everything in our lives with our thoughts and words, the same principle applies to our health.  The thoughts we think create all the diseases in our body, and a positive outlook can help reverse-engineer our health to its former glory.

After all, health is the most important asset we possess.  If someone offered to cut off your right arm for a million pounds, would you accept?  Of course not (at least I hope not!).

We deserve to feel our best, and planning on eating for health is an investment in yourself.

Of course a healthy and varied diet full of healthy and organic foods is extremely important.  As  far as food goes, as long as something comes from a natural source, and isn’t processed, I believe we should consume it.  Food-related illnesses cost the UK National Health Services billions of pounds a year.  Cancer, diabetes and heart disease are causing so many  premature deaths.

So many of us use food as an emotional crutch to get through stressful periods.  Then we end up getting angry with ourselves for relying on it.  There are many meditation techniques/therapies we can employ instead with the help of a skilled therapist. Also, please remember to eat mindfully as it helps us enjoy the food more, which in turn enables our bodies to utilise what we eat in an  optimum way.

But equally importantly a healthy diet is also a diet from negative thoughts, negative news, and negative people.  Wherever possible, we must try and eliminate these from our lives.

Gratitude

Gratitude is a very necessary trait in order to survive the day to day trials of life. It also changes our mindset by reminding us to be objective and not get carried away with our problems.  I’m thankful to the personal development industry for showing me this wonderful trait.

Every day we need to practice gratitude and equanimity.  Upon waking it’s great to spend some quiet time communicating our gratitude for everything around us.  A roof over our head and food on our table.  The freedom to learn new skills and develop ourselves.  The health to carry on with our professions.  But most of all, the gratitude for being able to develop our mindset to bring to us all the joy and abundance our heart desires.  It’s great to have the control and power to deliberately change our thoughts, so that we can see the world differently.  It can effect the outcomes we get.
