7 Ways to Change Your Life #2

Health

As we attract everything in our lives with our thoughts and words, the same principle applies to our health.  The thoughts we think create all the diseases in our body, and a positive outlook can help reverse-engineer our health to its former glory.

After all, health is the most important asset we possess.  If someone offered to cut off your right arm for a million pounds, would you accept?  Of course not (at least I hope not!).

We deserve to feel our best, and planning on eating for health is an investment in yourself.
Of course a healthy and varied diet full of healthy and organic foods is extremely important.  As  far as food goes, as long as something comes from a natural source, and isn’t processed, I believe we should consume it.  Food-related illnesses cost the UK National Health Services billions of pounds a year.  Cancer, diabetes and heart disease are causing so many  premature deaths.

So many of us use food as an emotional crutch to get through stressful periods.  Then we end up getting angry with ourselves for relying on it.  There are many meditation techniques/therapies we can employ instead with the help of a skilled therapist. Also, please remember to eat mindfully as it helps us enjoy the food more, which in turn enables our bodies to utilise what we eat in an  optimum way.

But equally importantly a healthy diet is also a diet from negative thoughts, negative news, and negative people.  Wherever possible, we must try and eliminate these from our lives.

We need to take  time out to listen to our bodies and trust its signals on a regular basis and become our own doctors.  After all, who knows your body better than the person inhabiting it (you).  It’s easier to prevent illness than to try and cure it when the mental patterns have taken hold that created it in the first place.  There are so many alternative or complimentary therapies at our disposal today.  We need to see which ones resonate with us before just “obeying the doctor” and swallowing handfuls of allopathic medicine.  We can all experiment with acupuncture, homeopathy, and chiropractic.  Yoga, meditation, reflexology, Tai Chi  are also life-changing disciplines.

Everyone is different.   Take time to create your own eating plan. We don’t have to fit in with what popular thinking dictates.  Fad diets change very often, and there are too many of them.  We need to become the authority in our own lives, and make informed decisions about our own bodies after weighing up the pros and cons of suggestions from the medical profession.

As well as drinking enough water (at least 8 glasses per day), it’s a good idea  to take supplements which compensate for the lack of minerals in our soil depleted by modern intensive agricultural methods.

Remember, you know how your body feels, and you’re entitled to make decisions concerning your health.  Please remember we are what we eat.
